VINMAN STUDIO

Since the inception of this space in June 2023, I feel that there is a history to be shared with you.  One, in collaboration with Juanita Skrokov, this space came to be.   During the time of Melbourne became under house arrest, the front of what previously used as a restaurant lent itself as a platform for a magnificent mural encompassing themes based on dreams.   Specifically the symbology of powerful elements such as the moon, wind, clouds, flowers, arid deserts, cat and succulent plants.  The iconic figure on the far right of the wall was the goddess of corn tortillas.  Flipping them as the basis of sustenance and signifier of life.  Amongst it all, it all served as a cradle as well as a sanctuary.  One that held the power to protect, rescue and make itself as a space , the vast collection of objects and textbooks that held its own power.  Where imagination, artists, Mystics, Poets, Surrealists and nomads could access and find food for thought.   Maintaining the many diverse ideas in response to the local area hub.   In essence, VINMAN STUDIO has been a long way back in the making.   VINMAN was the personal alter-ego signature movement capable of being able to speak the language, to rebel, to understand, find compassion and deny the trespass  in some ways, the unethical and immoral.   And by contradiction, the space lent itself also to challenged those preconceived ideas of place, territory, belonging and the politically by way of passivity, art activism and virtual discourse.   Its intentions was always to find and give the voice of the hidden mystics and activists, the ordinary heroes.  The facilitators of ideas that during the decades have served the community in many ways by putting together the fragmented pieces of evidence based on personal story lines, anecdotes, images, performances and gatherings - subject to invitation of course!.    VINMAN studio has no particular vision limited by time.   Although the physical realm exists in 219 High Street, Preston, its history and action moves swiftly through the streets and Suburbs of Melbourne.   As poetry captures certain essence and flavours of place and time, the life of this space moves accordingly with much that in can unturn through inquiry and exploration.   Items in this shop are for sale, but the significance, energy and power is not - it has to be earned.   For that reason, open hours are obliged to serve customers, it is the necessity of that magic that determines the relation between the two.   Looking forward to meeting you and hear your story, as inevitably will bridge the most compatible choice for the present, that ultimately your patronage will withhold the mechanincs and physical into the future.      Gratitude.
